Interface & Graphic Designer, Jump! Networks
Jump provided an extremely powerful, highly integrated online personal information manager. Users were able to synchronize their email, calendars, address books, and other information with popular desktop applications and PalmOS handhelds. I developed a passion for creating interfaces that provide integrated, task oriented information to the user while designing parts of Jump's online e-mail and groupware functionality. I streamlined Jump's sign-up and customization functionality to make processes more intuitive and increase overall acquisition numbers.
After Jump! was acquired by Microsoft in the Spring of 1999, I designed a new project to create an integrated desktop application to display important PIM information without requiring a web browser to be open. Like most of the technology from Jump!, Microsoft chose not to integrate this useful functionality into their MSN Calendar product. The application was similar to MSN messenger, but provided up-to-date information about calendar events, tasks, and e-mail messages.
