Users shared files from their home computer using the OnShare Client software. This software was designed to duplicate many of the features of the web site, while providing all of the other controls for selecting and sharing files. Users could browse and download any of the files on the OnShare network while also managing the files they wanted to share from their computer. A web-based version of this software was available allowing users to securely access their personal computer while away from home.
